Dengue Fever

Dengue virus is a flavivirus that is estimated to infect about 390 million people annually and can potentially cause the life threatening Dengue hemorrhagic fever.

The WHO has identified Dengue as the fastest growing mosquito borne disease in the world. While only 9 countries had experienced severe Dengue epidemics prior to 1970, the disease is now prevalent in over 100 countries. There are no existing approved treatments for Dengue once infection occurs.  We are using a combination of cheminformatics and machine learning, in close coordination with experimental colleagues, to develop new therapies for Dengue.
